To clarify this problem, I should say that this 256-color problem is NOT related to forms created in an earlier version or different platform where a different color palette was being used. In that problem, it is caused by the fact that a form keeps its original color palette from the day it was created. And the problem can be cleared up by creating a new form and using drag-and-drop to copy everything to the new form. (I even have a page of instructions I keep handy to follow when I do it.)

This problem can be seen on any form that uses any text item colors from the color palette that aren't in the primary 16 color group. When the form is run on a client that is using a 256-color display setting, the colors revert to one of the primary 16 colors.
