Hello,
I'm trying to install Oracle 8i (8.1.6) on Mandrake 9.1. One of the requirements before installing Oracle is to change SHMMAX in /usr/local/src/linux/asm/shmparam.h to half of physical ram and a few other shared memory parameters like SHMMIN, SHMMNI and SHMSEG. The problem is, the header file I have does not have any of these defined currently. When I run the 'ipcs' command, I get one line for shared memory segments with key 0x0000001. My question is, are these values stored somewhere else on Mandrake 9.1? If so, how do I change them? Or, can I just add them to the header files and rebuild the kernel?

thanks in advance Received on Wed Jan 07 2004 - 10:29:35 CST
