I am thinking about editing the snmp_ro.ora file, even though you are not supposed to. I think I did edit it a while back, not knowing you are not supposed to touch it.

I have a database that no longer exists appearing in that file and I am getting errors in my nmi.log and I am thinking this might help resolve it.

There IS an entry for this obsolete database in the snmp_rw.ora.

There IS NOT entry for this database in the TNSNAMES.ora or LISTENER.ORA Error from nmi.log (the old database was called TEST)

Fatal NI connect error 12560, connecting to:  (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=BEQ)(PROGRAM=ORACLE)(ARGV0=ORACLETEST)(ARGS='(DESCRIPTION=(LOCAL=YES)(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=beq)))'))(CONNECT_DATA=(CID=(PROGRAM=E:\oracle\ora81\bin\dbsnmp.exe)(HOST=ESC-AA-WEBDB)(USER=SYSTEM))))

  VERSION INFORMATION:

Oracle Bequeath NT Protocol Adapter for 32-bit Windows: Version
8.1.7.0.0 - Production
Windows NT TCP/IP NT Protocol Adapter for 32-bit Windows: Version
8.1.7.0.0 - Production

  Tracing not turned on.
  Tns error struct:
    nr err code: 0
    ns main err code: 12560
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error     ns secondary err code: 0
    nt main err code: 530
    TNS-00530: Protocol adapter error
    nt secondary err code: 2
    nt OS err code: 0

The errors in the listener.log are:

(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=WDEV)(SERVER=DEDICATED)(CID=(PROGRAM=e:\bin\cfserver.exe)(HOST=SCPS-AW-PROD)(USER=SYSTEM))) * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=10.1.40.85)(PORT=1476)) * establish * WDEV * 0 Thanks for any advice,
