I was under the impression that the original poster already had made up his mind to buy either Oracle or DB2. If the difference in quality and features are so large to motivate a comparison between a high performance car and a Yugo...well, it was your words...

For all I know, why don't we throw in Massey-Ferguson in the list of products that must be supported too? Your selection of Yugo must mean the required minimum average speed was less than 30 km per hour, and I think a MF could support that... :-)

Making sure you system can be supported by at least two vendors does not automatically mean it must run on every database system out there.
