Once you familiarize yourself with the upgrade steps in the Upgrade
Notes, it is possible to copy the 817 ORACLE_HOME to the box
containing 816, and then proceeding with the upgrade steps.



This would be in leiu of re-installing via CD, but you have to know
what you are doing.
