are you sure there is absolutely no enty in listener.log? locaton of listener.log you see on startup or checking stat of listener

>lsnrctl stat

are there other applicatons using the port(s) of the listener (default 1521)

>netstat -a|grep 1521
>netstat -a|grep LISTEN (search for port-nubmers)

other applications may kill the listener.
