If you are running 8i (8.1.5 or higher) you should have access to LOGMINER. You will most likely need to install it in your instance; the scripts are in $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin.

Once installed read through the documentation. You should find this utility quite useful for examining redo logs and archived redo logs.
