Hi,

ORACLE 8.0.5 is compiled with the "old" gcc-compiler on redhat version 5.n. If you are going to install ORACLE, deselect the installer option for recompiling
the oracle binaries. All will work fine. If you need to recompile any binaries
install the glibc-2.0 binaries. You will need g20binut, g20egcs, g20glibc and g20libs.
On the SUSE ftp server (I know you are driving redhat) there are some nice patches
solving this problem too.
