Brice,
 there is always a 'SYS' account. This is the owner of all Oracle internal objects (data dictionary etc.)  Default password is 'change_on_install'.

 You should not need to logon as SYS, SYSTEM (or DBA for that matter) has all the grants you would need for regular administration.
