Try connecting with server=dedicated in the connect_data string of TNS.
I haven't had the need to do this, so I never looked much further than that.
But I think I read that the best way is to add a 2nd alias database
connection with connect_data with server=dedicated in the listener.ora and
connect to that when you want a dedicated server. (e.g., you have a XXXX
entry. Add a XXXX_DED alias. The how-to I can't help with.
