Thank you for your responses. Sorry for missing out platform details. I've the solution now. I am working on a SUN Solaris platform. I have a backup program that uses the date as a filename. When there is a single digit date (1-9), I was getting a space in the filename. The solution was to use '"file name.dmp"'. I am going to format and get rid of the space in the file name eventually, but I was looking for a quick fix. Thanks once again.
