Oracle/VB5 Datatype-Incompatibility

I'm trying to fill a VB5-Double-Datatype in an Oracle-database, i'm using
DAO as access-method. Does anybody know which oracle-datatype is
compatible with a Double. I've tried Float and Number(x,y), but it doesnt
work.
