Thank you, Stefan and Mladen for your valuable feedback. A few more questions:

*       Is OEL optimized for Oracle database runtime environments when compared to RHEL? Like I/O calls, etc?
*       From Cloud's perspective, it is my understanding that OEL is not a standard offering in the AWS Cloud and that you have to purchase it from the AWS marketplace. From that standpoint, would OEL on AWS be an expensive proposition when compared to RHEL?

I personally like OEL very much and also have several clients who are running on OEL (and even switched from RHEL to OEL). Works pretty neat.
