Thank you, Stefan and Mladen for your valuable feedback. A few more questions:
Thanks,

Hello Amir,
I personally like OEL very much and also have several clients who are running on OEL (and even switched from RHEL to OEL). Works pretty neat.

* Is OEL optimized for Oracle database runtime environments when compared to RHEL? Like I/O calls, etc?
* From Cloud's perspective, it is my understanding that OEL is not a standard offering in the AWS Cloud and that you have to purchase it from the AWS marketplace. From that standpoint, would OEL on AWS be an expensive proposition when compared to RHEL?

UEK behaves differently in some areas (e.g. https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2FOracleSK%2Fstatus%2F1479106253368397831&data=05%7C01%7Camir.hameed%40sleepnumber.com%7C0141c055cb904e03cfd508dac236ab51%7Ced8aabd514de49829fb6d6528851af5e%7C0%7C0%7C638035837315718062%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=j779pZ4q4Xh2gD9mZJA3rEG4ZjpUvEmBEhWkDqN%2FCns%3D&reserved=0 ) but that is not something that you would notice in your daily business.

The company is looking into switching to OEL with the idea of saving costs. Since I have not worked with OEL before, I am trying to understand if strictly from Oracle products and especially databases' standpoint, are there any performance enhancement features in OEL that makes OEL better than RHEL when running Oracle workloads.
