Hans, don't judge them too harshly. Ask yourself, if you were a CIO, what would you utilize as an enterprise monitoring solution? How easy it is to find system administration staff who knows OEM 12c? I am not talking about Oracle DBA, enterprise monitoring solutions are usually set up by system administrators. The open source communities have been around for much longer time and are well entrenched in the universities. OEL 12c faced an uphill battle from the start, with very little chance of actually winning.
