I followed the link. Wowzers! "From a tiny seed..." &c.
You know, I've often thought that running into Neo - towards the end of a night of drinking, in a bar where the amateurs don't flock and you have a chance to hear what others are saying - might be a memorable experience.
He is, no doubt, energized and focused; he has a deep passion for whatever it is he's pursuing. He reminds me of someone I knew, years ago, who could see the wind and spent most of each day watching the wind as it crossed the road, traveled through fields, turned left (or right) at the tree line, then meandered about, almost lost, before deciding upon a new direction and gathering itself up in a rush to a new destination. Unfortunately, his father was court-appointed guardian and took charge of the check that the government sent every month -- paying his rent, buying his clothes, and mailing him five dollars every day. Any more than that at one time would simply result in another overdose of a psychoactive substance. I always wondered, "How could you tell?"
(The "perfect vacuum is an ocean of ones" and the "black hole is an ocean of all zeroes where data [are] propagated...to zeroes" reminded me of the wind watcher, in case you're wondering.) Received on Tue Aug 08 2006 - 07:25:31 CEST
