If you look at the context, I was explaining why my terminology might not have matched yours -- it is likely the smaller size company and/or toolsets that lend themselves to smaller staff sizes.
It might be a good idea for us to add some of the role distinctions to our glossary (if we still have a glossary project). When someone says "DBA" what do we as a group figure they do? Data modeler? Software developer? All of the s/w developers I work with do data modeling -- it would be hard to write software without doing such, even if not modeling for implementation using DBMS tools.
