Dear Peter,

We started using these NIST tests years ago (mid 90's?). During the first year we sent NIST a big number of corrections, which where approved. Then the NIST project was discontinued, so the 'official' files haven't been updated for many years. However, we still find a few errors now and then.

Since the original files contained many obvious errors, I find it hard to believe they have all been run by NIST. (Probably they were written without the opportunity to verify them.)

Still these tests are a great tool. We use them daily at our R&D department.
