In relation to Oracle there is quite a difference in the way transactions are isolated form the rest of the database. It looks like Solid defaults to the a stricter level of isolation that Oracle offers. Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to indicate when a transaction should start.

More on this can be found on a very short thread I started some time ago: Google groups, search for "transaction isolation" and my name. Rereading it myself, I think it is about time I out more effort in this.

Also, their JDBC driver is somewhat limited in functionality. They 're working hard to solve taht, though.

I haven't done any extensive testing yet.
