Don't use my nested set model for this -- it will not work worth a darn. That trick is good for Bill of Materials and Organizational charts.
My advice is don't write any code at all. Go to the Mormons can get the package that they sell. It is insanely cheap, and connects you to their database. They believe that they can baptize ancestors, so they have compiled the largest geneology database on Earth and made it public.
Hey, solve the problem, not the SQL!
