oracle JDBC driver 8.1.7.4.0

Hi,

My development team is currently in discussion witht he DBA department about a driver issue.

The story goes as follows. Our DBA department claims that they only support Oracle JDCB 8.1.7.4.

Unfortunately, this driver has a bug, which leads to Java NullPointerExceptions when closing a PreparedStatement after using exectueBatch().

This bug is not present in an older version of the driver 8.1.7.1.0.

Now, when I look at the Oracle site for support on this issue. It nowhere mentions anything baout 8.1.7.4. The latest driver according to the site is 8.1.7.1.

Does anyone know more about this driver mistery. I have to convince my DBA to mirgate back to 8.1.7.1...
