The official docs are available on technet.oracle.com, it's the [Server Version] Utilities Manual. Some other notes are available on metalink.oracle.com. But for more detail in do's/don'ts, search comp.databases.oracle.* (not this group comp.databases.oracle, it is decremented). If you have any specific questions after you've looked in these places, ask. Avoid the option COMPRESS=Y unless you are on older Oracle versions and understand the consequences.
