SQL Statement in JAVA

Hi there


I'm trying to execute a sql statment but am getting a SQLException() Can
anyone see what I'm doing wrong?



Statement stmt = oracleCon.createStatement();
ResultSet rset = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT value FROM v$parameter WHERE
(name = 'control_files');");


I get an error when the executeQuery is executed!
