Hello all,

I just installed Oracle 9i on my windows 2000 server (sp3) and thought it would be a simple process to export a database and import it on my machine. On machine 1 the enterprise manager tells me to launch the Oracle Management Server to be able to start the export wizard. The same story on my machine (2) when clicking import...
I cannot find anything that resembles a service with that name? Is it a service at all?
I don't know anything about Oracle, I don't know where to start reading, I'm a total fool, I know a lot about MS SQL Server, I smoke too much cigarettes, even MySQL is no problem for me, should I give up and start making bonsai tree's?

Any help will be much appreciated...

Marc

PS

Things I tried:
In sqlnet.ora I changed
SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
To
SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= () The "Enterprise Manager Configuration Assistant" was run during installation, I ran it again and got oracle.exe running twice. I disabled the second service, the original one that was created during install still runs... And yes, I rebooted my machine several times.

I looked here:
Bonsai Tree Guide

can it be that simple? Received on Wed Feb 05 2003 - 14:02:01 CET
