I have clustered databases before (not Oracle), and in the experience that I have had, you need the following:

4 NICs (two that directly connect one machine to the other) 2 SCSI RAID Cards (that support clustering) 1 external SCSI drive array

You will need additional software utilities, and a good place to start researching this is on http://lcic.org/

IMHO, there is no point in clustering a database without an external drive array. If the storage is located on another server, then if the NFS mount fails, or the other server goes down then you have no database anyways.
