We upgraded to Oracle 8.1.7 last week end and now I notice the PPID (parent Process Id) of all Oracle processes are 1 (init).
Does anyone know if this was the intended effect. We upgraded from 8.0.6..
The problem I have now is that when I do a ps -ef and want to see what oracle connections belong to what programs I can not relate the processes back (using ps -ef)..
I know there is ways under oracle to get the pid and ppid but that is a little more work than before..
Any thoughts? Received on Thu Apr 25 2002 - 00:12:38 CEST
