Problem with oracle service

Hello

I have a problem with my oracle installation. When I try to start the OracleOraHome81DataGatherer Service I get the following error message : 1053 Error locating Software\ORACLE\HOME0 directory in Oracle home. I tried to start the service manual with the vppdctl tool but this fails to. Please help me. I have the following system configuration:

Win2k Server SP2
Oracle 8.1.7 Server
