If you are referring to me, then yes, I am an OCP DBA. I did take an exhaustive 6 month full-time course on DBA, and passed my 5 exams with an average of 90 - 93% each. I found the intellectual excercise of writing the exams interesting, and proceeded into my working career with high expectations. That was soon dashed when I began to realize that being an Oracle certified DBA means sweet piss all to those in the know, and was simply a precursor to the vast amounts of knowledge that is required to do this job effectively and well.
I am not saying that OCP didn't help me, the opposite is true. The fact that I was OCP got my foot in the door: but because I had also taken it upon myself to learn Solaris and linux, as well as Designer and Developer, were the deciding factors in my procurement of a job.
That being said, OCP isn't worth much, other than to get you a consideration for a second interview. It's up to you as an individual to study your material diligently and learn the rest of the technology to help yourself through the trials that inevitably follow.
so, there it is. my 2 bits.
