Could be a coincidence.
If you have ML09, please install bos.rte.libc 4.3.3.77 and reboot. (It fixes a memory leak)

This is a WEIRD problem and the solution lies in oracle

errno=0 is success, so either oracle had an internal error OR aix gave it an error and oracle cleared it.
