Possible bug in Oracle?

I am getting inconsistant results when accessing a table. When I
select from the table I get two rows. When I try deleting or inserting
I get 'ORA-01403' e.g.



SQL> select count(*)


  2  from log;



  COUNT(*)





         2



SQL> delete from log;


delete from log


*


ERROR at line 1:


ORA-01403: no data found



SQL> insert into log values (sysdate,'','',1,'',1,'');
insert into log values (sysdate,'','',1,'',1,'')


            *


ERROR at line 1:


ORA-01403: no data found



Is this a bug in Oracle? I am using 8.0.5 on Linux.
