Oracle Baan Security

We have a fairly large Oracle/Baan database approx. 350 GB with 88 Companies of 70,000 tables. Recently, my company engaged one of the BIG 5 Risk Assessment Experts. That guy does not know how Baan/Oracle interaction. In a Baan environment, all tables are assigned to a role R_BAAN where BAAN is a group user (schema owner).
He recommended to the management to remove this role and assign individual roles based on job functions and assign it to 2000+ usesrs. In spite of argument of complexity and maintaianence such a security scheme with my management, they would like to "explore" the possibility of doing this.
Does anybody out there tried this kind of approach for ERP applications ? (ie by passing the ERP security and assigning user security at database level ). Any comments and/or thoughts Received on Fri Oct 19 2001 - 04:41:05 CEST
