Access problems to Performance Charts in PM/PO in 9i?

i can't seem to access the Performance Overview charts?

the agent is running (started using 'agentctl start agent'): db1 577 $ agentctl status agent

but when i try to access the Performance Overview Charts i get an error message when i click on the database (db9i) in my PM window:

VTD-0111 There are no statistics classes defined for this service.

followed by the following error if i try to access the perfOverview:

again i appreciate you time an assistance - i have been able to get the 8.1.7 versions of all this running, but i must still be missing something (besides a brain...) for the 9i version.???
