Oracle 8i and Windows Me

Hello,
I thought this would take less time, but no matter. I am trying to download and install 8i Personal Edition on a Windows Me machine. I download the zip file from Oracle, I unzip it to a temp directory and then run autorun. I get the following message(error). Jre has caused an error in JAVAI.DLL. After much searching, I am at a loss to understand why it is occurring. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
