Hi Meng:

If you are newbee in oracle, I suggest you to start with regular hot backup and cold backup.
rman is more powerful and flexable, but it's optional. You can find the hot and cold backup scripts from books and run them by cron job.
I prefer to locate the archive in disk and cycle them out by cron job. It's better to have daily system backup for sure.
