Hi,
I recently installed Oracle8i (8.1.6) on Intel Solaris 8. Oracle is
successfully installed without any errors. When I create the database thru
dbassist command, the database is also created. I have changed the follwoing
settings:
test:/export/home/oracle:Y
2. /var/opt/oracle/oratab
test:/export/home/oracle:Y
3. /etc/hosts
192.168.8.1 mars
4. /etc/services
test 1521/tcp
5. /export/home/oracle/.profile
Even the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora looks good.
But I am still getting TNS unreachable ORA-12154
When I start the test database like this
$dbstart test
It returns with
But once I enter anything like sqlplus or svrmgrl or svrmgrlO nothing will
come-up except prompt.
Will anyone from the group please help me out.
In past, the group solved my problems whenever I am in trouble.
Thanks
