Developer 2000 and DB2/ SQL Server

We are using Developer 2000 as a programming tool and now we have to decide to use it or not against DB2 and MS SQL server.

We are using Developer 2000 as a programming tool and now we have to decide to use it or not against DB2 and MS SQL server.
Is there anyone who tried Dev2000 against non-ORACLE databases ?
Is there any other way to connect to a non-Oracle database , other than ODBC ?
