No way,

Only in some cases you can avoid writing in redo log.

Such as Create with unrecoverable, and SQLLoader direct option.

But for update no way, only suggestion is commit after few records so the rollback segement dose not get filled.

Secondly, Refresh rollback segement according to your site need, if lot of processes fail, refresh every 4 hours or so...

But not in UPDATE.... Rollback segemnt are must.
