It really depends, Christopher. Any dbms should be able to handle that data,
as long as you were able to load it properly. What type of analysis are you
doing?
The basic steps:
- design a database to store the data
- read it from the tape, and transform as necessary
- analyze
You don't necessarily need a database to do this -- you could keep it as flat files, if the data's not too complex
