Oracle training info wanted

I am a Windows programmer (mostly VB) who wants to learn Oracle at a reasonable cost. I am funding this myself so I would like to avoid paying 2 grand for a course. I know Oracle sells computer based training (CBT), but are there other sources of Oracle training that are a little less expensive?
I am also open to hearing from anyone who would be interested in sharing training using Oracle CBT to split the cost. I would prefer to share with someone here in the Raleigh, NC area.
