OOPSLA APPLIED OBJECT TECHNOLOGY WORKSHOPS The program of the OOPSLA Midyear Workshops on Applied Object Technology is at http://www.acm.org/sigplan/oopsla/oopsla98/midyear/. The main workshops are Finance, Telecommunications, Manufacturing, Insurance/Health, Java Frameworks, Transitioning to Object Technology, Object Training and Lifecycle Models. There is still time to submit a position paper before April 27.(The Conference is July 19-21 in Denver).
In addition to these workshops, I am encouraging birds-of-a-feather sessions on topics such as "Objects and Application Packages(e.g. SAP)", "Practical Applications of Agents", "Complex Adaptable Systems","Object Wrappers for Legacy Systems","Future Integration of Objects and Databases", and "Real World Benchmark Scenarios for Object Product Evaluation". Let me know if you are interested in organizing a birds-of-a-feather session or posting a position paper on one of these topics to the Workshops Web site. I would be especially interested in suggested benchmark scenarios for evaluating distributed object/Web products.
