Awaiting agent confirmation ?

Hi All,

We have the following problem getting Oracle 8 (v. 8.0.3) server backup to work under the Enterprise Manager in Windows NT 4.0 server:

We take the following steps to get backups to run:

  • Start the Enterprise Manager
  • Start the Backup/Recovery tool
  • Run the Backup Wizard and enter all required parameters.
  • The Backup Wizards finishes OK and submits the job into the queue.
  • On the EM main screen the job is shown as "Submitted" with the status "Awaiting Agent Confirmation".
  • It never starts and it remains in this state forever (not actually timed).

Other information:
- The Agent service is running

  • The EM daemon can ping the agent OK

Does anyone know what's wrong and what the message 'Awaiting agent confirmation' means ?

Any help on the issue would be greatly appreciated.
