Hello all,

I'm writing an article on database-related agent technology. Verity and Excalibur announced an Informix Agent/Profiling DataBlades as an add-on to their text blades. (I don't believe that either text blade is generally available yet.) If you know anything about these or are developing something similar yourself -- the ability to store dyanmic domain-based profiles that are fired up when the document base changes, -- I'd like to hear about your experiences.

I'm also interested in IBM DB2 Universal DB Extenders and Oracle Network Computing Architecture (NCA) Cartridges, whether data cartridges for Oracle 8 or application server cartridges or a Context add-on, but I haven't seen any evidence that IBM or Oracle is working on building agents into their ORDBMSes, themselves or with partners. (IBM is doing interesting agent work, mostly with mobile Java-coded agents.)

        Thanks,

                                        Seth
