Where in the world do I start? I have C/C++ programming experience
coupled with a little experience using Borland's Paradox.
I would like to develop a server based muti-user application capable of
handling 1 million + records accross over 30 - 40 tables. I am interest
in RAD development capablities that allow low level control of serial
ports and other system devices.
I am unfamiliar with current database technology and trends.
Can I develop server apps using a single computer? What's available?
What's the best?
What are the current standards for databases that will ensure portable
and scalable apps?
I'm lost in the wake of the database technology, but would like to catch
the boat.
