Problem with SQL*Net and Listener service

I access an Oracle 7 database (on a SCO server) using oracle's ODBC driver and SQL*Net 2.x.

It works fine, unless something crashes (but what ?) and oracle says End of file on communication channel (or something like that, it's a french version)

the error code is ORA-03113

[State=S1000][Error=3113][Oracle][ODBC Oracle Driver][Oracle OCI]ORA-03113: fin de fichier sur canal de communication.

Have you ever encountered and solved this error ?
