VB/Oracle positions in Orange County, CA

The Geneva Companies, the nation's leading specialist in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures of middle sized companies is expanding it's Information Technology department in order to pull off about 3 years worth of work in a year. We are developing applications using Visual Basic 5.0 (we're only building 32 bit apps) and Oracle PL/SQL. While we're developing, we're also migrating our environment to NT including Exchange and SMS. We are located in Irvine, CA (check out our website at www.genevaco.com for a picture of our building and a profile of what we do).

We are looking for the following types of individuals:

Junior and Senior Visual Basic Developers.

Join our already outstanding interface development team. This group of 4 or 5 individuals is working on both a VB and Internet Explorer interface. We build most everything as ActiveX controls. If you want to contribute and learn new technologies at the same time, come join us. A little knowledge of Visual C++ would help, but it's not required.

Oracle DBA and Developers.

We develop our server side apps primarily in PL/SQL. Everything is packaged neatly and is pretty object oriented. The data model is mature, well designed (I have to say that, I designed it) and easy to work with. We use Oracle 7.3 on both NT and Sun Solaris platforms.

Network/NOS Technicians

We have a mixed bag (NT, Novell 3.x, Novell 4.x, OS/2 and Unix) now, but we'll be all NT (except for one Sun environment) by the middle of summer. We have a frame relay network to connect our remote offices (New York, Chicago, Dallas and Clearwater, FL). If you no your stuff in NT, come join in the comradery.

Help Desk/PC Techs

If you can take abuse and keep getting up for more then you've got the make up for a great tech. You'll enjoy supporting buggy applications on decaying hardware in a demon possessed infrastructure (for about 4 more months until the new servers, PCs and apps are all online).
