All, Hopefully someone out there has had a similar experience and has some insight or solution on how we should proceed.
Currently we are attempting to take our existing windows developed reports and migrate them to a AIX 4.1 box to run in a nightly batch cycle. We use Developer2000, Oracle reports 2.5. The reports are executed specifying batch=yes, destype=file, desformat=psport.prt ( we have tried various post script formats ). The reports execute just fine. However, we are seeing considerable differences in the formatting of the reports. We are finding that we have to increase the dimensions of the fields at a minimum of 30%, sometimes much more to prevent data from being truncated. This causes considerable headaches in re-formatting efforts on our reports ( we all know how tedious that can be ).
My question is, is it typical to experience this much disparity in the output format???? Are we overlooking something basic??? There are minor differences in report versions ( windows 2.5.4.0.8 vs AIX 2.5.3.6.2 ). Any assistance or input we be greatly appreciated.
