Why would you mirror raid 5 volumes ?

If you're going to mirror, why not run raid 0+1, which is stripping plus mirroring without the performance penality on disk writes that raid 5 has. The advantage of raid 5 is so you don't have to buy duplicate disk drives. Received on Tue Oct 22 1996 - 00:00:00 CEST
