Within 5 years, you can make more then $70,000. But you can also, wind up making $30,000 after ten years. You have to be carefull. Expecially watch out for large MIS shops where COBOL is the mainstay. You have to be willing to move ( you may not have to move, but you have to be ready to move )if your salary becomes stagnant.
