Techniques for generating advanced Forms 4.5 applications from Designer/2000. Many of the techniques can also be applied to Designer/2000 Reports, Web and Visual Basic generators. These techniques will:
Improve the efficiency of developers involved in the generation/
build phase of a project
Provide a framework for multiple applications development
Decrease the effort required for maintenance releases of
Designer/2000 applications.
The presentation will include advanced template configuration, layout tricks, multi level templates and libraries and more.
4:00 - 5:00 Tuning Client/Server Applications
Presented by Scott Hollows of UniScape.
Client-server applications often suffer from performance problems primarily due to excessive network traffic. This presentation and paper will present a variety of practical tips and techniques for developing and tuning Developer/2000 client-server applications.
Many of the techniques discussed can also be applied to Web applications.
This presentation will be of particular interest to developers of new client-server applications or attendees interested in tuning existing client-server applications.
About Scott Hollows: Scott Hollows is the Managing Principal consultant of UniScape, a California based company specializing in Oracle consulting. He was previously a senior principal at Oracle's world corporate headquarters and has a strong background in many areas of Oracle technology including RDBMS, Designer/2000 and Developer/2000.
He began work on tuning client/server applications before the term became a buzzword and has continued this work up to date. He developed the world's first client-server tuning workshop based on Oracle technology. He has tuned a variety of systems around the world including USA, UK, Australia and Asia.
Directions: Exit east on Q Street exit from I-5 (near business 80). Turn right or south on 4th Street. Building is between 4th and 5th and R and S streets. Parking garage is on 5th Street between R and S (5th Street is a one-way street going north).
