About your index problem (newsgroup comp.databases.oracle)



This is a known BUG (*yes*) at Oracle, at least for 7.1.6.
Sometimes, dropping the index and recreating it afterwards does
not work immediately. This is also a known bug at Oracle.
Patch for these do exist but I do not remember the reference
