I know that this is a oft-repeated question these days but I could not find any concrete references and so here goes:   What is the simplest way to get data out of my Oracle database to my Web application? I know that I need to use CGI. I really do not want to learn Perl/Oraperl as I think this would be a overkill.

I have Oracle Web Listener/Server installed on my Solaris 2.5 box. I heard that if you know HTML and PL/SQL, you can work wonders using Oracle Web Server. I also have Apache 1.1.1 web server installed and running.   Could someone please get me up and running ? by mailing me code fragments/ white paper references, etc.

N.B. I dont want to write Pro*C programs also. There has to be something simpler, damn it! :-) I am not averse to a little hard work but reading various threads on Usenet/ORACLE-L, i get the feeling that not much hard work is needed and I **DO NOT** want to re-invent the wheel.
